Hey Harper, the original waterproof jewelry brand, is excited to announce that Milko Boyarov has officially joined the team as the brand’s head designer. Milko’s first official launch with Hey Harper is a mini-drop called Loops of Love and will release on January 23rd with eight beautiful pieces ranging from $90-$125, just in time for the Valentine’s Day holiday.

Boyarov, whose passion for jewelry and design started back in high school during a metal craftsmanship course, really values craftsmanship and takes a very hands on approach in everything he does. As part of his design process, he combines images, hand drawings, and prototyping where he plays with different materials and utilizes both traditional and self-developed jewelry techniques. He takes a sculptural approach to jewelry and finds sources of inspiration from the underwater world, street culture, fashion, product design, music, performances, and more. As someone who loves designing with bold choices and telling stories through collections, Boyarov is overjoyed to be joining a team where he is encouraged to express himself without limitations on where and how far his ideas go.

“While Hey Harper will always offer great quality jewelry at an affordable price point, we have been working hard to continue developing the brand by launching high end, artistic collections in addition to the on-trend pieces we know and love. With this mission in mind, Milko was the perfect addition to the team as he brings such incredible artistry to everything that he designs. We are very lucky to have him as we continue to grow and create beautiful, waterproof jewelry for all” explains Founder and CEO Catarina Oliveira.

The Loops of Love collection, which features various charm necklaces, earrings, and rings, draws inspiration from various knotting techniques and the idea of safety and togetherness as a cultural symbol of love.

“As I said earlier I have a very hands-on approach to designing and for the first mini-collection for the brand Loops of Love, I started playing with the most recognizable symbol of love. I started with the idea of knotting which symbolizes love, stability, and togetherness. Playing around with the idea of interlacing, looping, knotting, and unknotting hearts” shared Boyarov.

ABOUT HEY HARPER

Hey Harper was born in Portugal in 2018 out of the dream of filling the gap in a market where jewelry was either too cheap and would lose its color, or it was simply too expensive for most to afford. Born and raised in Lisbon, fashion lover Catarina Oliveria saw an opportunity to invest and provide women with quality jewelry at reasonable prices. Before starting the brand, Catarina worked in consulting and project management but struggled to find excitement in her career. She tested different areas, such as selling vintage clothes and easy-to-use kitchen appliances online. Still, She didn’t feel passionate until she explored the concept of waterproof jewelry.

Hey Harper jewelry is made with stainless steel and uses PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition), a modern coating process that makes color last and is 10x stronger; the same exact process used by Rolex and Cartier. The end result? High quality, stylish pieces that won’t tarnish (they can be worn in the pool or at the beach, during a sweaty workout, or while doing your skincare routine) or break the bank.

What started as one person hand making necklaces and earrings in a small apartment in Lisbon, is now a great business success – Hey Harper has sold over 600,000 pieces over the last 4 years, and 99.6% of the pieces have kept their color, even when exposed to water and humid environments. Within two years, Hey Harper has sold to more than 100 countries around the globe. They are working to build a future where the option for high quality jewelry doesn’t need to be gold and cost a fortune.
